Stockheart friendly neighborhood construction update

They say that Minnesota only has two seasons, winter, and road construction. We didn't have much of a winter this year, so we’ve been enjoying an extended road construction season. It seems to be slated to out-perform our “Winter that Wasn’t.”

Stockheart’s home is nestled just two blocks down from the majority of the Lake Street and Hennepin Avenue construction project, and wouldn’t you know it, they decided to start at our end of the project, near Bde Maka Ska. The good news is that it will not actually involve our block. Whew! So have no fear: you WILL always be able to access our clinic, no problem! 🥰

This project will continue for the next two years, as they redesign the road to include a protected bike lane, improve walkability, and enhance metro transit. For more information on the project, click here. The section closest to Stockheart will be completed later this year.

Next year, the project will move north of 26th Street, and farther from our lovely space.

In the meantime, we have been flexible with our start times, and ask that you also give yourself some extra time to arrive. Many of the side streets along Lake Street are closed while they dig up the pavement, so take your time finding a new route to our office. During this initial phase of construction, the traffic will be extra…ahem…interesting…until everyone figures out how to get where they are going. Consider this an opportunity to practice patience and loving kindness for our fellow drivers as we find new surprises on our routes with each passing week.

Thanks for your patience, we look forward to seeing you on the table – and we *really* look forward to seeing the way Hennepin Avenue will flourish after completion of this project!
