Gut-Healing Lemongrass Bone Broth with Collagen

Bone broth is a nourishing and flavorful addition to a variety of dishes, and making it at home allows you to control the ingredients and the cooking process. Rich in collagen and nutrients, this hearty broth not only supports gut health but can also enhance the flavor of soups, stews, and sauces. With a few simple ingredients and some patience, you can simmer together bones, vegetables, and aromatic herbs to create a deeply satisfying broth that can be enjoyed on its own or as a flavorful base for countless culinary creations.

Here’s one of our favorite recipes to nourish your digestion, as well as your tendons, ligaments, skin, and more!

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups chicken bone broth (homemade or high-quality store-bought)

  • 2 stalks fresh lemongrass, sliced (or 2 tbsp dried lemongrass)

  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger, sliced

  • 1-inch piece fresh turmeric, sliced (or ½ tsp ground turmeric)

  • 1 clove garlic, smashed

  • 1 tbsp dried marshmallow root

  • 1 tbsp coconut aminos or a dash of sea salt

  • 1 scoop collagen peptides (add after simmering)

  • 1 tsp fresh lime juice (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a small pot, bring the bone broth to a gentle simmer.

  2. Add lemongrass, ginger, turmeric, garlic, marshmallow root, licorice root, and chamomile.

  3. Cover and let simmer for 15-20 minutes.

  4. Strain out the herbs and pour into a mug.

  5. Stir in collagen peptides, coconut aminos or sea salt.

  6. Finish with a squeeze of fresh lime juice.

  7. Sip and feel nourished!
